Bias, که به سوگیری ترجمه شده یکی از مهمترین موضوعات در روانشناسی معاملات است. 
Bias در دیکشنری کمبریج به این معنی آمده است: پشتیبانی و یا مخالفت با شخص یا موضوعی خاص به شکلی غیر منصفانه، و به دلیل اجازه دادن به نفوذ و تاثیر دیدگاه های شخصی. 
با این تعریف اگر Bias  را نوعی حجاب بدانیم که مانع دیدن شفاف ما می شود. و همچنین،اگر ناخودآگاه بودن اکثر Bias را در نظر داشته باشیم . کلمه سوگیری ترجمه مناسبی برای Bias نیست، چرا که سوگیری  به معنی جهت گیری است و نشان

ما آدم ها خطاهای دیگران را سریعتر و راحت تر از خطاهای خودمان می بینیم. گرایش به این باور که ما کمتر از دیگران دچارخطا می شویم را خطای نقطه کور  (Blind Spot Bias) می گویند.
